Great practical and compact guide

This is my second trip to Vancouver (after a good 15 years+ ago). I need a good comprehensive small book easy to carry, day-by-day suggestion to include Whistler and the Olympic site connection. This small guide book fit the bill.

Vancouver is a blast with a very very good public transportation (no need to rent a car if you stay in down town) and people are very friendly and courteous ( a few country left with this kind of attitude, Greece included). Do rent a bike to explore Stanley Park, very reasonable for $20/half day. Do wonder on your own (not joining bus tour); it is a safe place. If you want to go to skiing in Whistler, get a ski package deal from Greyhound bus (from downtown only 2 train stops away.

I purchased this for our 8 day trip to Whistler, Victoria, and Vancouver BC. It was incredibly helpful. We have 2 children (aged 10 and 7), and this guide provided something for everyone. The information was accurate and helpful. It even highlighted spots to visit that are a little off the beaten path, and not full of tourists. I thoroughly recommend this guide to anyone traveling to Vancouver and surrounding area. It has foodie tours, shopping tours, walking tours, day tours, architecture tours, winter in Whistler, Summer in whistler……super helpful. Look no more, this is the guide you need.

I suspect I should have asked more questions even though the picture showed a variety of amp colors. What I received was a whole packet of 25 amp fuses. Maybe I’ll need ‘em (sometime within the next twenty-five years). I think caution would be advised with this seller.

TERRIBLE! HORRIBLE!

Just bought this guide in Kindle version, in order to replace my 11th paperback version.
I WILL NEVER DO THIS MISTAKE AGAIN!

- Far LESS information than before! I had the time just to compare a few locations and the first feeling is that it is all made SHORTER! Even correct and useful informations that were in the previous guide have been removed! For example: why remove the Akechihira Ropeway from the locations around Nikko??? I have been there last week -thanks to the 11th version- and there is a great view of the lake and the waterfalls from there!
- Unusable: the back button does not work properly, so if you enter a link there is no way to go back to what you were reading before!

These are the main complaints for the moment…
So sorry I even spent over 20 dollars to get this…
I’ll keep on using the dear old paperback version, heavier but DEFINITELY richer of informations!!!

I have the book, not the Kindle version, and I have to second the other reviewer in saying that there seem to be a lot of changes that make this less helpful that the older version. There’s still a fair amount of information about places, good directions, etc., but they have thrown out separating the accommodation into budget/midrange/topend and also seem to be focused on toprange places. I don’t need a guidebook to tell me that the $400 a night hotel is good– but I don’t buy Lonely Planet because I can afford to stay there, or eat the $100 meals they rave about. When it comes to booking accommodation in Tokyo, they list a bunch of $300 places and then say to just check on the internet if you want budget… ???? Well, that would be helpful if I were coming in late on the train. It makes you wonder why you bought the book… Weirdly, the Fodor’s had more budget options in some places.
